More details on the research infrastructure/laboratory

  1. Description and data of the research infrastructure/laboratory:  
    The laboratory is designed for research and teaching of various thermal processes (heat transfer by conduction, convection, radiation, change of state). An experimental cooling set with an automotive radiator as a compact heat exchanger can be used to investigate various geometric and physical parameters of radiators to intensify the heat transfer process.  
  1. List of instrumentation: 
    Teaching of Heat I. and II.; NIKON D5300 digital camera; Teaching Tube-in-Tube and Bundle Type Teaching Downstream and Counterflow Heat Exchanger; Pipe surface temperature sensor; 1000 W power supply; Axial turbine flow meter for liquids; Digital vane anemometer; VIAIR air compressors and compressed air tanks; Communication port-NI USB-6211; A set of renewable energy; Temperature controller. 

  1. Justification of uniqueness/strategic importance:  
    The experimental setup for the research of compact heat exchangers is variable for different geometries and working conditions of heat exchangers with the possibility of using a new method of cooling heat exchange surfaces with air nozzles.  

  1. Assignment of research infrastructure to one or more research areas:  
    Research on heat transfer by conduction, convection, radiation and state change; Research on automotive radiators and cooling systems; Research of thermal processes in heat exchangers.
