The application process begins when the Technical University in Zvolen receives the nomination e-mails from partner universities. Coordinators send an e-mail to the Erasmus Institutional Coordinator in which they announce their candidates for the student exchange. |

Please note that the general language of the Institution is Slovak. Textbooks, lectures and exams can be provided in English. English level B2 (the CEFR) is required. Study at the Technical University in Zvolen for international students includes also the Course of the Slovak Language providing students with basic knowledge and skills needed for communication in everyday situations. Apart from the basic knowledge of the Slovak language, students also obtain information on culture and history of the country. The course is organised by the Institute of Foreign Languages at the Technical University in Zvolen. After finishing, the students receive the certificate of the course completion. It concerns mostly the levels of A1, A2, and B1 by the CEFR. |

Housing |
The Technical University in Zvolen provides accommodation in dormitories where Erasmus+ students live together with other students. All Erasmus students live in the housing facility of BARINY, Študentská 17, 960 01 Zvolen. There are two/three-bed rooms with a bathroom. The kitchen is shared by students living on the same floor. |

Meals for students are served in the student canteen of BARINY. The student canteen operates on the basis of the information system which enables automatic ordering and taking meals through a smart card. Catering services are provided: |

Insurance |
The international students are recommended to travel with valid insurance covering the full length of their stay. They should purchase the third party liability insurance, accident insurance, and health insurance. The EU citizens having the European Health Insurance Card are eligible for free health service. |

Visa |
Since the Slovak Republic is a full member of the European Union, international students coming from the EU countries do not need visa. Information about visa policy in the Slovak Republic can be obtained from the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic. The Migration Information Centre (MIC) provides third country nationals with free counselling and services. PROCEDURE FOR ACCOMMODATING AT TUZVO STUDENT DORMITORIES
In connection with the preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19 and following the measures and recommendations of the relevant state institutions, the following rules were established for entering the accommodation at Student Dormitories of TUZVO.
- RULES FOR ACCOMMODATING OF SLOVAK STUDENTS
The Slovak student can accommodate themselves if in the preceding 14 days before the arrival to the TUZVO Student Dormitories:
1. He / she has not shown the symptoms of a viral infectious disease.
2. He / she has not been in contact with, or is suspected of having, a COVID-19 disease.
3. He / she has not been abroad.
4. He / she has no obligation to remain in self-isolation (quarantine).
The above stated will be confirmed at the arrival to the accommodation by the handwritten signature on the document „Declaration of Honour” for the accommodation at the Dormitory - Slovak student (Annex 1).
- RULES FOR ACCOMMODATING OF INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
The international student, regarding his / her country of origin or the transiting country from which they are travelling, will be accommodated only when the following conditions are met:

Before arrival at the accommodation: he / she is obliged to stay in self-isolation (quarantine) in the TUZVO Quarantine Centre for 10 days. There is also option to realize the accommodation procedure according the conditions specified for COVID-19 risky country. |

Upon arrival at the accommodation in ŠD TUZVO, he / she will fill in and sign a document “Declaration of Honour “. |
Countries outside the European Union |
The same conditions as for the COVID-19 risky (“red”) country. |
1. After entering the territory of the Slovak Republic before he / she arrives at the accommodation at TUZVO Student Dormitories he / she have fulfilled the obligation of at least 5 days of self-isolation (quarantine) outside the dormitory. After he / she finish the self-isolation, they will undergo the COVID-19 test and receive negative results. The test must be performed on the territory of the Slovak Republic and must not be older than 48 hours upon submission.
2. Student will be provided with accommodation at the TUZVO Student Dormitories only if he/she has no symptoms of a viral infectious disease at the arrival to the accommodation facilities.
3. The above stated will be confirmed by the student at the arrival to the accommodation by the handwritten signature on the document Declaration of Honour for the Accommodation at the Dormitories – International Student and at the same time, they provide a confirmation on the negative results of the COVID-19 test in the printed form or in the form of a scan.
4. Detailed information is specified in Annex 3 – Instructions for the Accommodation Process of Foreign Students.
5. Providing false information is subject to a financial penalty of EUR 5 000 in accordance with the valid Slovak legislation.
After entering the territory of the Slovak Republic, the student coming from COVID-19 risky country will contact the Public Health Office placed in where he / she are staying for the obligatory 5-day self-isolation (quarantine).

Please pay attention to the fact that TUZVO requires a negative test result for COVID-19 for the purpose of accommodation after arriving from all countries, even from the so-called safe countries that are not in the red zone.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE ACCOMMODATION PROCESS OF FOREIGN STUDENTS
Each International Student coming from COVID-19 risky (“red”) country*, who will be accommodated in the Students' Dormitories of TUZVO in the Winter Semester 2020/2021, is obliged to remain in a mandatory minimum 5-7 days of self-isolation (quarantine) before he/she can be accommodated and to provide a confirmation on the negative results of the COVID-19 test.
Each International Student coming from COVID-19 safe (“green”) country* but COVID-19 risky region, who will be accommodated in the Students' Dormitories of TUZVO in the Winter Semester 2020/2021, is obliged to remain in a mandatory 10 days of self-isolation (quarantine) before he/she can be accommodated.
TUZVO will provide accommodation for the mandatory days of self-isolation (quarantine) for the international students at TUZVO quarantine place.
Quarantine place: Dormitories of L. Stur (Block A), Studentská 1734/17, Zvolen. The accommodation is organized in the groups of 2 persons in one common accommodation unit.
The accommodation during the self-isolation at Dormitories of L. Stur is a paid service. The accommodation fee is set to EUR 13 / day and is paid by the International Student at the arrival to the quarantine place to start the quarantine regime. The accommodation fee includes:
• All-day diet.
• Cleaning services.
• Disinfection of premises.
• Transport from quarantine centre to the COVID-19 testing centre.
You can start your mandatory days of self-isolation (quarantine) in quarantine place in the following terms: 7 September 2020, 14 September 2020, 21 September 2020.
The International Student who decides to complete the quarantine and undergo a test for COVID-19 individually outside TUZVO will prove the negative test results for COVID-19 at the arrival for accommodation and at the enrolment for studies, but this test cannot be older than 48 hours upon submission.
We recommend using the TUZVO quarantine regime also for those TUZVO International Students who will not be accommodated in the Students' Dormitories of TUZVO in 2020/2021 but have secured another accommodation.
