European chestnut is component of agro-silvo-pastoral systems, where it has been always fulfilled numerous ecological, economic, social and cultural functions. Sustainable using of chestnut orchards is strongly dependent on the human management, that is currently insufficient. The first objective of the research is to evaluate and importance of chestnut orchards functions in agro-silvo-pastoral systems in the Modrý Kameň area. Further objective is the assessment of health condition of chestnut in selected chestnut orchard in the Modrý Kameň using modern non-contactless technology (unmanned aerial vehicle). Original part of research is comparing results of research using traditional ground and innovative non-contactless methods for chestnut inventory and recommendations for practice.
