  2. Hydrolysis optimization of selected fast growing trees and wood wastes

Hydrolysis optimization of selected fast growing trees and wood wastes

The aim of proposed project is to examine the hydrolytic processes of selected kinds of plant biomass. Fast-growing woods (especially poplars and locusts) and paper manufacturing wastes (recycled pulps) as sources for hydrolysis were selected. The main goal of the project is to find out optimal conditions for the highest yields of carbohydrates in the process of hydrolysis. Other arising products suitable for the chemical and energetic exploitation (methanol, carboxyl acids, carbonyl compounds, etc.) will be also analysed. The experiments will be performed by the method of planned experiment; it enables to find the optimum conditions of treatment at the lowest number of experiments. During the project solving we will accomplish the analyses of the selected fast growing poplar and locust genotypes and recycled pulp fibers, optimize the conditions of their processing and evaluate the suitability of the samples utilisation in the concrete area.
