The project is focused on research of tree species adaptability and their reaction on climate change in special habitats such as in particular xerophilous forest-steppe communities. The research will be specifically oriented to assess growth potential, species diversity, spatial structure, ecological plasticity and reproduction possibilities of main tree species, but also of other tree species, which are presented in scientific publications at the level of different ecotypes and occur also in communities with markedly different environmental conditions. New, original findings will be gained, which will be used to assess the adaptation processes of individual tree species and their communities to changed environmental conditions in the future.
