Composition of an excellent research team:
Main research focus:
The excellent Chip and chipless wood cutting team is composed of employees from one faculty and three departments in order to broaden its scope. The team members have long been engaged in the processing of wood and wood materials with various forms of energy from the perspective of the interaction relationship between machine - tool - workpiece, in the context of the entire comprehensively understood area of the technical scope of the Technical University in Zvolen (forest - wood - ecology - environment) - agricultural, forestry and production technology, for the needs of the Slovak Republic and abroad. In addition, they focus on material innovations and the design of technologies for increasing the service life of tools and components of forestry mechanization equipment and perform analyses related to the operation of machinery used in production systems for complex wood processing. In their research activities, they also focus on the design and construction of environmental and forestry machines and equipment, with the possibility of optimizing and using environmental and forestry technology systems. The results of scientific research activities - team members regularly publish in renowned scientific journals and are presented at international scientific conferences in relation to their specialization at home and abroad. Team members cooperate with practice, as well as state administration organizations and provide significant consulting activities for various enterprises in the manufacturing sector.
Reasons why team is considered excellent:
The team is young, ambitious and balanced in terms of age structure (average age 43 years) and they are excellent workers in terms of the professional focus of the individual departments. The team members published 102 papers registered in the Web of Science database, for which they received 460 citations. The average citation response per paper in the Web of Science database is 4,51 and the H-index of the entire team is 13. Several of the cited papers were created in international collaborations with the participation of several team members. At the same time, younger scientists under the leadership of individual team members achieve extraordinary results. The vast majority of the team has built its own significant scientific school (13 completed doctoral students) and the works of their PhD students are published in scientific journals registered in the CCC, WOS and Scopus databases. They actively participate in the development of cooperation with well-established universities in Europe, especially in the Central European region (V4 – Krakow, Warsaw, Zabrze, Koszalin, Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Ústí nad Labem, Liberec, Zagreb, Slavónsky Brod, Maribor, Lviv, Saint-Petersburg, Minsk, ...). Team members presented their requested lectures at the mentioned universities of the individual countries. They regularly participate in the organization of international scientific conferences and seminars, where they are guarantors of individual events, are members of international societies and editorial boards of scientific journals at home and abroad, included in the WOS and Scopus databases. They regularly lead projects financed by domestic grant agencies (APVV, VEGA, KEGA, ...), and were also members of these agencies. Their assessment activity for the needs of economic practice, state institutions and renowned scientific journals is also rich
