Bringing new functions to wood through surface modification

Modification of wood surfaces with: a/ new acrylic, alkyd, polyurethane, and other paints; b/ new thermo-chemical processes. Monitoring and studying of the long-term deterioration of modified wooden materials in Xenotest and outdoor expositions by EN 927 standards, analysing of their durability, reasons of degradation of their structure, and possibilities of their better protection against biotic and abiotic factors. Scientific results and practical experiences will be presented at the COST Action FP1006, applied in educational activities, and also at organization of workshops and seminars on the national level.
