The proposed project devotes to basic research in the field of the close-range photogrammetry (CRP) application supported by Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) for forestry application. The objectives of this project are to establish a benchmarking of point cloud processing methods that are developed by participating research teams to estimate tree diameter at the breast height, stem curve and the tree positions. Furthermore, it aims to use and verify CRP and IMU prototypes developed by participating research teams with respect to optimize the data acquisition as well as data processing workflow. The main outcomes of the proposed project are (i) a scientific publication (ii) the active participation at conference and (iii) a draft creation of the following project proposal.
