Detailed data on research infrastructure/laboratory:
- Description and data on research infrastructure/laboratory:
The laboratory primarily serves for teaching the subject Metrology for Technicians. It contains all the measuring instruments and measuring devices necessary for the subject. Students can use practical demonstrations and measurements to verify their theoretical knowledge of the basics of metrology. This laboratory also contains a device - a water line. The device is used primarily in teaching the subject Fluid Mechanics and partly also in the subject Metrology for Technicians. The water line allows you to measure pressure losses in a straight pipe, as well as in places of sudden narrowing and expansion of the pipe cross-section. At the same time, it is possible to compare direct and indirect methods of flow measurement using an installed magnetic flow meter and measurements based on measuring the pressure drop on the orifice. This device has currently undergone a comprehensive reconstruction and allows you to perform measurements of the full characteristics of the pump used. -
List of equipment:
Water line, measuring instruments for length measurements, angle measuring instruments, special measuring instruments for thread and gear measurements, laboratory scale Axis AG2000C, hot air-drying oven Memmert UF 30 Plus. -
Reasoning for uniqueness/strategic importance:
The laboratory's equipment enables basic measurements carried out in engineering practice. These include not only basic measurements of length and angle, but also specialized measurements of threads, gears and roughness of various machined surfaces. The laboratory also includes a specialized device called the "Water Line", which is used simultaneously not only in teaching the subject Metrology for Technicians, but also in the subject Fluid Mechanics. -
