Dear friends,

I would like to welcome you at web-pages of the Technical University in Zvolen.
History of our university is closely related with the oldest technical college in Europe and possibly even in the world, with the Academy of Mining in Banská Štiavnica, which was established in 1762. These as well as other important historical events lead us towards using of the latest modern technologies in science, research and education itself. Therefore we would like to offer all people a possibility to learn about us and to communicate with us via the latest information media. Our university belongs among the top educational institutions in the Slovak Republic with specific specialisation in the area which is vital and important for every society that is research, protection of the environment and environmental planning. The Technical University in Zvolen, as the only one in Slovakia prepares top experts and creative specialists able to solve the problems and questions of the relationship of human beings and their activities towards nature, from the point of view of prospective protection of the sustainable development of human kind, especially in the complex of forest – wood – ecology - environment. Our university has in this area a developed system of educational activities for all levels of university studies with a broad scale of educational forms and methods on the bases of scientific research activities which have excellent results and this way we are an important international institution.
